EXPANDING
Cobb County Fire's
Pre-Hospital
Blood Transfusion
Program

Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services launched its Pre-Hospital Blood Transfusion in February 2025. Building Strong Horizon's 2025 Profound Impact was awarded to F.E./Paramedic Kleiman and F.F./Paramedic LaPrade for saving multiple lives within the first month of launching the program.

In its first four months of operation, the existing single unit treated over 40 trauma patients, saved over 30 lives, and enabled 2 organ donations. Adding a second unit will double capacity, reduce response times to under 20 minutes, and strengthen trauma care across Cobb County.

Building Strong Horizons is spearheading operations to expand Cobb Fire's Pre-Hospital Blood Transfusion program.  Cobb Fire has a long term goal of having 5 units strategically placed throughout Cobb County. â€‹

BSH has nicknamed these units LIFE "LIFE" LIMA-INDIA-FOXTROT-ECHO
